Welcome to Beyond the Cube

Welcome to my new Blog. I feel a little bit like the guy who wanted to write prose only to discover that he had been writing it all his life. I've been writing down all sorts of things over the years. Some of these are related to work or to things I would like to write about mind and information theory, and I'll leave these to another time and place. Meanwhile I've been writing lots of stuff about philosophy, religion and atheist spirituality, in emails and postings and sometimes just for my own amusement. I've also been involved with the Zimbabwean pro-democracy movement, principally through the Movement for Democratic Change, for whom I do some IT related things in the UK. There's also a lot happening in the larger political picture, things for which I think the Zimbabwean situation has lessons for us all.
I've been a member of the CIX on-line community for the past 10 years, and lost my Christian faith there in the course of various discussions. This was long before there was a blogosphere, in fact CIX is a kind of highly functional blogging community in its own right.
So there it is. Please do feel free to comment on my pieces, but in view of the nature of the stuff I'll write about here, I hope you'll understand if I reserve the right to moderate (i.e. ignore) some comments.
